Policies and Procedures
The following assessments may be performed for every new patient before a diagnosis, treatment plan, or quotation is provided. This page outlines what to expect as a patient and the guidelines that help us care for you.
New Patient Examination
The following assessments may be performed for every new patient before a diagnosis, treatment plan, or quotation is provided:
- Dental Examination — a comprehensive examination of the teeth, gums, bite, and oral tissues.
- Panoramic X-ray (if required) — provides an overview of the teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures.
- Bitewing X-rays — used to detect cavities between teeth and assess bone levels.
- Periapical X-rays — detailed X-rays used to evaluate individual teeth and roots when necessary.
- Clinical Photographs — photographs of the teeth and smile to assist with diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Intraoral Scan or Impressions (if required) — digital scans or impressions may be taken for records or treatment planning.
Patients may receive access to their digital records where applicable.
Please Note
A consultation fee applies for the new patient examination and assessment.
- After the records are taken, the dentist will evaluate the findings and discuss treatment options with the patient.
- In some cases, additional X-rays or specialist referrals may be required.
- Treatment recommendations and a quotation will be provided once the dentist has reviewed all records.
- If further discussion or additional consultations are required, these may be scheduled separately.
- Treatment plans and quotations are generally valid for 6 months, as dental conditions may change over time.
